Both. photofix scores your main image against each marketplace's rules, then returns a fixed version: background cut to pure white, the product scaled to fill the frame, watermarks and added text removed, upscaled past the minimum resolution.
How does it know each marketplace's rules?
The checks are built from Amazon, Etsy and eBay's own published image policies (pure white main image, minimum fill and resolution, no text or watermarks). Pick the marketplace and the checklist switches to that store's requirements.
Will it work for my whole catalog, not one photo at a time?
